Community Rules
Keep Nekomo a friendly place. These rules apply in the app, on Discord and Telegram, and on GitHub.
Last updated: October 15, 2026
The short version: Be respectful to other users, avoid harassment or inappropriate content, and do not spam. By using Nekomo and joining our community you agree to follow these rules.
Contents
1. Be respectful
- Treat every member, helper, and developer with courtesy, even when you disagree.
- Keep conversation civil and in English where staff can moderate it (or use the language channel provided).
- No personal attacks, flame wars, or “drama” brought in from other communities.
2. No harassment or hate
- No harassment, stalking, doxxing, threats, or encouraging self-harm.
- No hate speech or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, religion, disability, or nationality.
- Do not share anyone’s private information without consent.
3. No NSFW or illegal content in community spaces
- No sexual content involving minors, ever. This is an immediate permanent ban and will be reported.
- Keep explicit, gory, or shocking material out of community spaces.
- These rules cover our Discord, Telegram and GitHub. The app itself can show adult sources only if you switch them on yourself (18+).
- No malware, phishing links, scams, or anything illegal in your jurisdiction.
4. No spam or self-promo
- No repeated messages, mass pings, chain posts, or unsolicited DMs.
- No advertising of other servers, apps, services, referral links, or crypto.
- Do not impersonate staff, developers, or the Nekomo brand.
5. No piracy distribution
- Nekomo does not host or provide content. Do not post direct links to pirated media, paid-content leaks, or “where to watch free” lists in our spaces.
- Do not ask staff for specific streaming sources or extension repositories. Support for third-party providers is not offered.
- Do not post cracked, modded, or re-signed copies of Nekomo. Share only official builds from the Beta page or the GitHub repositories.
Read the DMCA & Disclaimer for how Nekomo handles copyright concerns.
6. Support etiquette
- Search the Support page and previous messages before asking.
- Include your app version, Android version, device, and steps to reproduce. Attach the in-app Error log when you can (review it for private data first).
- Be patient. Nekomo is volunteer-run with no guaranteed response time, so please don’t ping developers repeatedly.
7. Beta testing conduct
- Beta/debug builds are unfinished. Report bugs constructively, one issue per report.
- Do not leak beta builds outside official channels, and do not post private keys, tokens, or personal logs in public issues.
- Security vulnerabilities should be reported privately to the maintainers, not posted publicly.
8. Staff & enforcement
Moderators may remove content and warn, mute, kick, or ban members at their discretion, with or without notice. Staff decisions are final, though you can appeal politely in a private message. Ignorance of the rules is not an excuse, and attempting to evade a ban leads to a permanent ban. These rules may change at any time.
9. Reporting
See someone breaking the rules? Report it to a moderator on Discord or Telegram and include a link or screenshot. For app problems, use Support. For copyright notices, follow the process on the DMCA page.
